Level Placement
At AM, Chinese classes are generally divided into 4 levels, with 2 sub levels in each level!
| Levels | Minor Levels | Proficiency Outline |

| Basic Level | B1/B2 | Focus: pronunciation and basic structures. Be able to initiate and respond basic conversations in daily life, e.g. taking a taxi, asking and giving directions. |
| Pre-Intermediate Level | P1/P2 | Focus: more complex structures and culture. Be able to respond more quickly and naturally on broader topics, avoiding grammar mistakes. |
| Intermediate Level | I1/I2 | Focus: complex structures, informal topics, daily life vocabulary. Be able to discuss social other informal topics with a rich vocabulary. Have a basic grasp of Chinese social life. |
| Advanced Level | A1/A2 | Focus: Formal topics, technical vocabulary. Be able to discuss politics, economy and other professional topics with native speakers fluently and deeply. Have a relatively good grasp of Chinese history, customs, culture and so on. |
